Searching for a heavy-duty, commercial-grade wallcovering that will withstand the test of time? Our certified Type II vinyl wallcovering is the answer for those seeking durable and more permanent options for high-traffic residential and commercial spaces. This material option is a professional-grade performance product due to its thickness, weight, and application method. Although this material can be installed on your own, we always recommend consulting with a professional installer for Type II wallcoverings for valuable experience in wall preparation, installation, and removal.
Commercial-grade wallcoverings are formulated to withstand heavier-than-average use and frequent spot cleanings. This product carries Type II certification for scrubbability, tensile and tear (medium to heavy duty), is Class A fire rated and meets NFPA ratings for smoke development.
FOR A LITTLE BIT, OR A LIFETIME
Nature’s beauty merges with enhanced practicality in this Type II fabric-backed vinyl wallcovering. Organic textures convey a timeless feel sure to be appreciated in the world of custom-designed walls. Ideal for any commercial or high-end residential project, this traditional type of wallpaper is unpasted, meaning a separate wallcovering paste is necessary to achieve your final look.
Although there are many different wallpaper paste options on the market, we generally recommend clear ‘strippable’ adhesives like ROMAN ECO-888 or ROMAN PRO-888 which will offer a strong hold and make any future removal easier and cleaner than other pastes. We always recommend prepping walls before installation with a compatible primer like ROMAN ECO-988 to ensure proper surface hold and longevity.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Wallcoverings in commercial spaces or in residential environments during construction should be performed as a finishing procedure. Never apply a wallcovering if there are important construction, painting or general remodeling projects still going on.
Surfaces to be covered must be clean, smooth, dry and structurally sound. Loose paint or other wallcoverings must be removed. In order to ensure maximum smoothness of installation, nail heads, nicks, gouges and other surface imperfections should be filled, sanded smooth and sealed. Mold and mildew require moisture in order to grow; therefore it is important to check the walls with a suitable moisture meter. Moisture content should not exceed 4%, and any excessive moisture in the wall needs to be corrected prior to installation of the wallcovering. This wallpaper can be installed over almost any surface that has been properly prepared. Glossy surfaces should either be sanded to dull or an application of professional primer if there is a desire for possible future stripping. Because there are many variables with wall types and finishes that can present when applying wallcoverings, we like to leave this part to the pros.
